The Local Source for the Historian in All of Us
The Howe Homestead is a historic farmstead that preserves Somerset County’s agricultural heritage. Maintained by the Somerset County Historical Society, the property offers a glimpse into rural life and the traditions that shaped the region.
The Weston Mill Project highlights the site of a once-vital mill complex that helped shape Somerset County’s early industry and community life. Led by the Somerset County Historical Society, the effort seeks to document, preserve, and recognize the site’s historical significance.

Docent-led tours of our newly designed Revolutionary War museum bring the exhibits to life through expert storytelling, context, and personal interaction. Visitors gain deeper insight, ask questions, and connect more meaningfully with the people and events that shaped our nation.
Our expert researchers help bring Somerset County’s history to life. With access to a rich collection of reference books and local records, they provide detailed insights into the people, families, and events that shaped the region.
